While there is currently no legislation in Missouri that prohibits driving while texting, a bill which would forbid drivers under 21 from texting behind the wheel will be adopted August 28.
THE PENDING LEGISLATION (EFFECTIVE AUGUST 28)
Specifies that any person 21 years of age or younger who operates a moving motor vehicle while sending, reading, or writing a text or electronic message by means of a hand-held electronic wireless communications device will be guilty of an infraction
