There are no current laws in Kansas which restrict cell phone use. However, as of January 1, 2010, those with learner and intermediate licenses will not be allowed to use their cell phones while driving. Another piece of legislation which is going through the Kansas House proposes a ban on texting while driving.
THE PROPOSED LEGISLATION
… no person operating a motor vehicle shall send, read or write a text message by means of an electronic wireless communications device.
